With the Lindt Cocoa Foundation and the Lindt Chocolate Competence Foundation, Lindt & Sprüngli has funded two institutions that pursue high standards of sustainability and the development of innovation and research in the chocolate industry.

The Lindt Cocoa Foundation

The Lindt Cocoa Foundation was founded in 2013 and has the declared purpose of working to achieve social and ecological sustainability in the cultivation, production and processing of cocoa and other raw materials used in chocolate production.

The goals of the Lindt Cocoa Foundation

The Lindt Cocoa Foundation supplements the already existing endeavors of the Lindt & Sprüngli Group designed to improve the living and working conditions of farmers in the countries of origin of the raw materials.

Vision, mission and focus of the Lindt Cocoa Foundation

The vision is that the cultivation, production and processing of raw materials used in chocolate has a positive effect on sustainable agricultural development in origin countries. The mission is to foster sustainable agriculture in developing and emerging regions by supporting innovative projects that aim at enabling farmers to improve their practices in the cultivation, production and processing of raw materials used in chocolate. To achieve its mission, the foundation focuses on improving farming practices, removing constraints on farmers, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of farming projects.

Founded in 2013, the Lindt Chocolate Competence Foundation aims to sustain, cultivate and promote Switzerland's long-term standing as a business location for chocolate.

About the foundation

The Lindt Chocolate Competence Foundation founded in 2013 aims to safeguard Switzerland’s leading position as a chocolate manufacturing country in the long-term and reinforce and expand Swiss chocolate expertise. The Foundation is dedicated to the sector-specific further education and advanced training of specialists and the fostering of young talent. As a core project, the Foundation is providing the wider public with an interactive information platform on all matters relating to chocolate - the Lindt Home of Chocolate.
