Water consumption

Water is an important resource for Lindt & Sprüngli. We use it as a fluid for heat exchange throughout the process, for the washing of molds, hygienic requirements such as hand washing, and for sanitary facilities. We continuously monitor and analyze the use of water and the output of wastewater in the production process. The company's goal is to continue reducing the water consumption per ton chocolate produced by an average of 2% over the coming years.

Water Consumption-Lindt & Sprüngli

In recent years, Lindt & Sprüngli production companies reduced their water consumption significantly: We have archieved this by eliminating almost all open systems, installing closed-loop systems, and optimizing cold and hot water circuits. Throughout the Lindt & Sprüngli Group, water consumption per ton chocolate produced has fallen by 10% since 2015.
